Walt Barie is a highly experienced electrical engineer with a robust background in power electronics and embedded control systems. At Benshaw Inc. since September 2014, Walt serves as a Senior Principal Engineer, focusing on medium voltage variable frequency drive power hardware and motor control software. Previously, Walt held a Senior Design Electrical Engineer position at Powerex Semiconductor, where development of integrated power products took place. Walt's tenure at Benshaw also includes roles as Technological Lead and Manager of Research and Development, overseeing various projects in power electronics and software design. Earlier career experiences include work as an Electrical Engineer at Aerotech, contributing to servo control systems, and at Bombardier Transportation, where the development of a Field Oriented motor controller for AC traction motors was successfully executed. Walt holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering - Controls from the University of Pittsburgh.
