Álvaro Ponte Blanco

Álvaro Ponte Blanco has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Álvaro currently holds the position of VP of Data at BEONx since 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Data Science Lecturer at Nuclio Digital School starting from April 2021. At Nuclio DS, they taught various topics including supervised and unsupervised learning.

From November 2021 to May 2023, Álvaro worked as the Head of Commercial Data & AI at Iberia. Before that, they were a Data Scientist at Cabify, a ride-hailing company, where they handled multiple data initiatives for different squads.

Álvaro's experience also includes working as a Senior Data Scientist at ICF, where they focused on aviation projects, and as an Expert Consulting Analytics Intern at McKinsey & Company, where they worked on optimizing trading in electricity markets.

Furthermore, they interned as a Data Scientist at McKinsey & Company and played as a Semi-Professional Football Player at Asociación de Futbolistas Españoles (AFE) from 2013 to 2017.

Álvaro Ponte Blanco completed their Bachelor's degree in Industrial Electronics & Automation Engineering with a focus on Process Control from Universidad de Oviedo in 2016. Álvaro then pursued a Master's degree in Automation and Industrial Computing - MAIIND with a specialization in Advanced Supervisiory from the same university, which they completed in 2018. In February 2017, Álvaro obtained a certification in Automation technology in theory and practice according to IEC61131 from EduNet, an institution affiliated with Phoenix Contact.
