Prof. Dr. Marc Lappas

Prof. Dr. Marc Lappas is a seasoned professional in tax and legal advisory, currently serving as Bereichsleiter Steuern und Beteiligungen at Berenberg since October 2021. Lappas previously held the position of Head of Tax for Continental Europe at Nomura from October 2018 to September 2021 and was a Team Lead in the tax department at DZ BANK AG for a decade, where responsibilities included managing a team and serving as Head of Tax for the VR LEASING Group. Early career experience includes roles at PwC as a Senior Associate in international tax structuring, a tax lawyer at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, and a legal clerkship at Haarmann Hemmelrath. Lappas is academically accomplished, holding a PhD from the University of Cologne and a professorship awarded by Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, in addition to qualifications as a German tax advisor and lawyer.
