Dr. Melissa Whitfield

Dr. Melissa Whitfield currently serves as the Chief Education Officer at Berkeley Heights Public Schools, where significant efforts have been made to realign the district to ensure equity and implement Full Day Kindergarten. With extensive experience in educational leadership, Dr. Whitfield also instructs and designs curriculum for online courses at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Phoenix. Previous roles include Superintendent of Schools at Florham Park Board of Education, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Professional Development in Sparta, and Curriculum Director for the Carlstadt-East Rutherford School District, among others. Dr. Whitfield holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from The University of Georgia and multiple degrees in educational administration and reading education from recognized institutions.
