Andrew Xiang

Undergraduate Student Researcher

Andrew Xiang is currently an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Berkeley Lab, contributing to the Disordered Rocksalt Oxide Project through density functional theory computations. Prior experience includes roles as an Undergraduate Research Apprentice at the University of California, Berkeley, where Andrew designed a hydraulically amplified self-healing electrostatic actuator and developed a computer vision algorithm for motion capture analysis. Additionally, Andrew has interned at Obsidian Point Partners LLC as Investment Analyst Intern Lead and Private Equity Summer Analyst, and gained engineering experience at Angel Battery Technology and CoreUnion Technology. A summer research stint at Stanford University resulted in a co-authored publication on lithium plating in lithium-ion batteries. Andrew is pursuing a degree at the University of California, Berkeley, with an expected graduation in 2025.
