David Brown

David Brown is a Senior Advisor in Computing Sciences at Berkeley Lab, a position held since August 2022. Previously, David served as Division Director for both the Applied Mathematics and Computational Research Division and the Computational Research Division at Berkeley Lab, overseeing up to 200 scientists and acting as chief spokesperson in interactions with external agencies. David's extensive career includes key roles at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where responsibilities ranged from Deputy Associate Director for Science and Technology to Group Leader for Computational Mathematics, as well as management positions at Los Alamos National Laboratory. David holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Caltech and dual degrees in Physics and Geophysics from Stanford University.
