Dean Sedlachek

Dean Sedlachek, PE, currently serves as the Department Head of Facilities Engineering at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory since October 2014, where responsibilities include designing safe and sustainable campus facilities and improving the reliability of critical systems and infrastructure. Previously, Dean held the position of Senior Civil Structural Engineer, managing design projects under DOE 413 guidelines. Before joining Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Dean worked at Creegan + D'Angelo Engineers as Engineering Manager, focusing on engineering design and process improvements, and as Engineering Project Manager. Earlier experience includes serving as a Structural Project Engineer at Murphy Burr Curry Structural Engineers. Dean holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from San Francisco State University.
