Feng Yu

Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Fellow (sibyls Beamline) at Berkeley Lab

Feng Yu is a Scientific Developer Intern specializing in molecular modeling at OpenEye and has extensive experience in computational biology. As a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Merced, Feng contributed to the development of a Protein Simulation Database and the Solution Space Simulation method, simulating intrinsically disordered protein sequences. Feng served as a Graduate Computational Mentor, maintaining the NSF CCBM High-performance Computing center, and previously interned at Berkeley Lab, creating scalable software for genetic data analysis. Additional achievements include mentoring in a data science challenge focused on COVID-19, receiving a 2022 Student Research Achievement Award from the Biophysical Society, and a notable award in a biological data modeling competition. Education credentials include a PhD in Quantitative and Systems Biology from the University of California, Merced and a BS in Physics from Nanjing University.
