Helen Zeng is a postdoctoral scholar at Berkeley Lab since September 2023, with prior postdoctoral experience at Stanford University in 2021-2022, focusing on the mechanical exfoliation of high-quality, single-crystal transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers and few-layer hexagonal boron nitride flakes. Zeng was a research affiliate at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory during the same period, conducting MeV-UED experiments on transition metal dichalcogenide heterobilayers. Previous research collaborations include work with the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Brookhaven National Laboratory, and the University of Rostock, where Zeng specialized in spectroscopic characterizations of ionic liquids and hydrogen bonding interactions. Zeng holds a PhD and MS in Physical Chemistry from Yale University and a BS in Chemistry from Purdue University.
