John German

John German is currently the Chief Communications Officer at Berkeley Lab. John has extensive experience in communications, having previously served as the Director of Research Communications at Arizona State University and the Director of Communications at the Santa Fe Institute. At Sandia National Laboratories, they were a Senior Communicator & Team Lead. John began their career as a Writing & Editing Intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

John German has a degree in Professional Writing from the University of New Mexico and a degree in Liberal Arts from Colorado College.

John German reports to Michael Witherell, Director. They are on a team with Michelle Lee - Chief Human Resources Officer, Todd Pray - Interim Chief Technology Transfer Officer, and Minh Huebner - CFO.
