Kindra

Jasbir Kindra (Jesse) is the Chief Technology Transfer Officer and Head of the Intellectual Property Office at Berkeley Lab since June 2022, leading a team focused on intellectual property strategy and portfolio management. Previously, from September 2017 to July 2022, Kindra served as the Contracts Team Manager at the University of Washington, negotiating $150 million in research agreements annually and developing contract management processes. Additionally, Kindra held roles as Exec Director of CASRIP, a Patent Attorney in the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic, and Adjunct Faculty at the University of Washington, contributing to intellectual property education and legal issues. Earlier experience includes positions as Branch Chief at the National Institutes of Health and Corporate Counsel at Goeken Group Corp. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School, a Master of Science in Biotechnology and Business from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
