Mamun Miah is a highly experienced data scientist and project scientist at Berkeley Lab since August 2016, focusing on the evaluation of seismic performance for innovative floating seismic isolation systems in nuclear power plants, with funding from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Miah has developed advanced software technologies for simulating fluid-induced seismic isolation during earthquakes. Prior to this role, Miah was a postdoctoral researcher where a parallel computational framework was created to connect ground motions with building response simulations. Miah's academic background includes a PhD in Engineering Science from the University of Mississippi, where research focused on a dynamic coupled hydro-geomechanical computational code related to induced earthquakes. Additionally, Miah holds a Master's degree in Engineering Science and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
