Mark D. Risser

Mark D. Risser, Ph.D., is a statistician specializing in machine learning and Bayesian methods to provide data-driven insights for decision-making. They are currently a Visiting Scholar and Lecturer at UC Berkeley's Department of Statistics and recently served as a Staff Scientist - Climate Statistician at Berkeley Lab. Mark has a strong background in the climate industry and a proven track record in data analysis, research, and student development. They earned their Ph.D. in Statistics from The Ohio State University, where they also completed a Master's degree, and hold a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Eastern Mennonite University.
