Michael Wisherop

Michael Wisherop, CIH, CSP, serves as the EH&S Team Leader at Berkeley Lab, where leadership encompasses chemical, radiation, biological, industrial, and laser safety, including hazardous waste management and environmental compliance since September 2007. Previous roles include Facilities and EH&S Director, EH&S Manager for the Materials Science Division, and Program Manager for the EH&S Division. Michael also works as a Brewer/Fermenter at Cap Thompson Ferments since September 2019 and held roles such as Deputy Team Leader for the EH&S Team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Associate Director for Health and Safety at the University of California, Berkeley. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from San Francisco State University.
