Xiangrui D.

Xiangrui (Derek) D. is a graduate research assistant at Berkeley Lab, specializing in materials science and engineering under the guidance of Professor Gerbrand Ceder. Previously, Derek gained experience as a research and development intern at Cuberg and Chemix, Inc., focusing on separator and cathode electrode formulations, respectively. As an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Derek completed a senior thesis and contributed as a course assistant for multiple subjects. Additional roles included involvement as an orientation leader, EOH lead for a project during Engineering Open House, and various managerial positions at University of Illinois CornTV. Derek holds a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering and Statistics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is currently pursuing a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
