Michael C. Mason, Ph.D., serves as the Inaugural Chair of the Africana Studies Department and has held various leadership roles, including Chair and Interim Chair of the Liberal Arts & Sciences Department, at Berklee College of Music since 2006. Prior to this, Michael worked at Harvard University/Harvard Graduate School of Education as a Special Projects Associate and Administrative Fellow from 2004 to 2006. Michael's academic career includes positions at Boston College/Lynch School of Education as a Clinical Faculty Member and Residence Hall Director, among others. Michael holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College, as well as a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Loyola University Maryland. Additionally, Michael has completed a Certificate in the Management Development Program at Harvard Graduate School of Education.
