Chris Stewart

Director, Software Development — Regional Shared Services at Berkley

Chris Stewart has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Chris began their career at State Metropolitan County Services, where they worked as a Software Architect/Engineer. During this time, they developed various systems, including an XML-based web service for online payment services and a multi-threaded imaging acquisition and storage system for a North Texas municipality.

In 1998, Chris joined DFW Computer Systems, Inc. as a Software Architect/Engineer. Chris played a crucial role in designing, developing, releasing, and supporting Conclude, a subrogation and collections management application. Chris also upgraded the company's applications to adapt to service-oriented architecture and customer relationship management.

In 2007, Chris started working at Union Standard Insurance Group, a Berkley Company. Chris held several roles, including Business Intelligence Developer, Team Lead for Business Intelligence Services, and Supervisor for Application Services. During their time there, they co-led efforts to improve the organization's data model, collaborated closely with end-users, and developed useful tools using SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, and .NET.

Finally, in 2019, Chris joined W. R. Berkley Corporation as Director of Software Development for Regional Shared Services. Prior to this role, they served as Manager of Software Development for the same department. As Director, they are responsible for leading software development initiatives.

Chris Stewart earned a Bachelor's degree in Church Ministries - Pastoral Ministry from Southwestern Assemblies of God University from 2002 to 2005. Chris has additional certifications from Scaled Agile, Inc., including Certified SAFe® 6 Lean Portfolio Manager, Certified SAFe® 6 Practice Consultant, Certified SAFe® 6 Practitioner, and Certified SAFe® 5 Practitioner.
