Marisue Elias Newman

Marisue Elias Newman has extensive experience in the insurance and legal sectors, currently serving as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and RISC at Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies since May 2011, following roles as Assistant Vice President and Director of Risk Mitigation. Previous positions include Director at the State Workers' Insurance Fund and Executive Director at the Great Valley Technology Alliance. Marisue also held legal positions with the City of Wilkes-Barre, including City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney, and practiced in a private law firm specializing in insurance defense litigation. Marisue began career with the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office and the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas as well as other legal internships. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Pennsylvania State University, The Dickinson School of Law, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and History from King's College.
