Maximilian Mai is a co-founder and COO of Berlin DAO, a web3-focused marketing agency established in September 2021, which specializes in innovative marketing solutions for the crypto space. In addition, Mai serves as an ambassador for the University of Nicosia's MSc in Digital Currency program since February 2020, promoting education on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Mai co-founded OffChain Global in December 2021, leading a nonprofit decentralized meetup group with over 9,000 international members. Previously, Mai was the co-founder and CEO of BlockWise Consulting, an accelerator for blockchain startups, from January 2018 to July 2022. Early career experiences include positions as a project assistant at the University of Duisburg-Essen, office manager at Deutsche Asia-Pacific Gesellschaft e.V., and internships at Friedrich Ebert Foundation and ZIF - Zentrum für Internationale Friedenseinsätze. Mai holds a Master of Arts in Contemporary East Asia Studies from the University of Duisburg-Essen and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg.
