Thaddeus Hackworth

Thaddeus Hackworth currently serves as Corporate Counsel for Berrien County since January 2022. Previously, Thaddeus held the position of Principal Consultant at Hayhouse Projects from February 2018 to December 2021, specializing in disaster recovery and housing programs with a focus on policy implementation and reform. Thaddeus has extensive experience in legal counsel roles, including serving as General Counsel for the NYC Mayor's Office of Housing Recovery Operations from May 2013 to February 2018, where Thaddeus managed legal matters related to post-Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts. Additional experience includes acting as General Counsel for the NYC Districting Commission, and roles in the New York City Law Department as Senior Counsel and Assistant Corporation Counsel. Thaddeus also contributed to education as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Baruch College. Educational qualifications include a JD and an MPP from Georgetown University Law Center and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Hope College.
