Julie Berndsen

Julie Berndsen has extensive experience in mental health and social work. Currently serving as an Eudora Elementary WRAP Therapist and Waiver Facilitator/PRTF Hospital Liaison at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center since August 2010, Julie coordinates treatment with insurance companies and facilitates hospital requests for youth in Douglas County. Previous roles include Clinical Social Work Intern at VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System, where assessment and discharge planning for Veterans were primary responsibilities, and School Social Work Intern with Kansas City Public Schools, providing resources and coping skills for students. Julie began their career at Horizons Mental Health Center as an Attendant Care/Respite Worker, focusing on community-based support for youth. Educational background includes a Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Columbia College Chicago.
