Sahra Abukar currently serves as Advisor to the Executive Board at Bertelsmann Stiftung since August 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Policy Officer at the Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz, nukleare Sicherheit und Verbraucherschutz (BMUV) from April 2021 to June 2023, focusing on the United Nations and 2030 Agenda, and in International Affairs & Protocol. Sahra's earlier positions include volunteering at Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V., working as a Parliamentary Assistant at Deutscher Bundestag, and serving as an Assistant to the Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Defence. Sahra's internship experience spans Deutsche Bank and Hessen Ministry of Justice, among other organizations. Sahra holds a Magister Artium in International Affairs from Hertie School, a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies from Maastricht University, and has also studied at the University of Zurich.
