Sonja Schwetje

Sonja Schwetje serves as the Geschäftsführerin of RTL Nord GmbH since February 2025 and holds the position of Vorsitzende AG Pressefreiheit at Bertelsmann since September 2019. Previously, Schwetje was the Programm-Geschäftsführerin, Chefredakteurin, and Nachrichtenchefin at ntvNachrichten from November 2010 to February 2025. Additionally, Schwetje was the Chefredakteurin of RTL News (Wirtschaft u. Netzwerke) from April 2021 to February 2025 and served as Chair of the Board of ENEX (European News Exchange) from June 2021 to December 2023. Early career roles included Redaktionsleiterin / Moderatorin at RTL WEST GmbH and various positions at RTL Nord GmbH. Educational qualifications include a Diplom-Kauffrau in Betriebswirtschaft & Journalistik from the University of Hamburg and an online course in Data Science Principles from Harvard Business School Online in early 2023.
