Joey Tanaka

Joey Tanaka is a seasoned educator and specialist in digital learning and robotics, currently serving as the Digital Learning and Robotics Specialist at Bertschi School since August 2011. With a focus on integrating technology in education, Joey has led various roles such as Division Head/Facilitator and Technology Integration Specialist, pioneering innovative curricula and fostering communication among departments. Joey's award-winning robotics program emphasizes STEM and STEAM learning, and includes leadership as the First Lego Robotics Lead Coach, where mentorship for young girls in robotics has been a priority. Prior experience includes teaching and curriculum design at Spokane Public Schools and Everett Public Schools, along with a strong foundation in educational technology from Antioch University Seattle. Joey is dedicated to enhancing student engagement through technology and creative problem-solving.
