Jai Massari

Jai is an operating advisor at Bessemer and the co-founder and chief legal officer at Lightspark, a company that is building on Bitcoin and the Lighting Network. She is a Fellow at the Berkeley Center for Law and Business at Berkeley Law School.

Jai has more than 15 years of legal experience in financial services regulation. Before joining Lightspark in 2022, Jai was a partner in the Financial Institutions Group of Davis Polk & Wardwell, LLP, and a leader of the firm’s fintech and cryptocurrency practice. She advised clients, including large global financial institutions, new and emerging financial market participants, and technology companies, on a wide range of financial regulatory matters, including digital assets and cryptocurrencies, market regulations, banking, derivatives regulations, and payments.

Jai earned her B.A. in chemistry from Cornell University and a JD from Duke University School of Law.
