Susan Konecny

Medical Director at Best Friends Animal Society

Susan Konecny has a diverse and extensive work experience in the veterinary field. Starting in 1996, they worked as a Veterinarian and Field Director at Banfield Pet Hospital, where they managed multiple hospitals and clinics and mentored new veterinarians. Susan then moved on to Mount Diablo Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinarian, providing comprehensive medical and surgical services. After that, they worked at Jacksonville Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinarian, where they emphasized quality medicine and community relations. Susan also worked at Banfield Pet Hospital as a Professional Relations Director, recruiting and employing new veterinarians and organizing quality of life seminars. In 2008, they joined Home Pet Vet LLC as the President and Owner, overseeing all aspects of the business and increasing revenues significantly. Susan also worked at the Southern Oregon Humane Society as the Director of Medical Services, managing medical operations and communication with adopters. Lastly, they worked at Mars Petcare as a Veterinarian at the Global Innovation Center before joining Best Friends Animal Society as the Medical Director.

Susan Konecny completed their Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse at the University of Pennsylvania from 1979 to 1983. Later, from 1990 to 1994, they pursued a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis.
