Derek Mayes is an accomplished culinary professional with extensive experience in food and beverage operations. Currently serving as the Director of Food and Beverage Operations and Executive Chef at Best Western International since September 2012, Derek has also owned the Culinary Resource Group since January 2007. Previous roles include Executive Chef at Delta Hotels from January 2005 to September 2007 and at ClubLink Corporation from January 2000 to January 2005. Derek's culinary journey began at Marriott International, where the role of Executive Chef was held from August 1997 to December 1999, preceded by a position as Senior Sous Chef at Casino Rama from March 1996 to September 1998. A graduate of Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, Derek earned a degree in Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts from 1989 to 1991.
