Tony Ryall CNZM is an accomplished leader in both the education and healthcare sectors in New Zealand. Currently serving as the CEO of BestStart since August 2018, Tony oversees the country's largest provider of early childhood education, with 265 centres nationwide. In addition to this role, Tony has been a Director at Tāmaki Health since July 2017 and served as Chair of nib New Zealand until February 2024, where responsibilities included managing health insurance for individuals and businesses. Prior experience includes leading public policy initiatives at Simpson Grierson and holding multiple ministerial roles within the New Zealand Government, including Minister of Health and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, where Tony was instrumental in significant reforms and privatisation projects. Tony's educational background includes a degree from Massey University.
