Thomas Farrugia is the CEO and founder of Beta Bugs, a company that specializes in insect genetics. Prior to founding Beta Bugs, Farrugia was a part of the Beta Cohort at Deep Science Ventures, where they worked on ideating technology solutions for agri-food and environmental sector challenges. Thomas was also responsible for raising funding from Deep Science Ventures LPs to deploy and execute the strategy for Beta Bugs.

Farrugia has extensive experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams and has built a strong network within the industry. Thomas is also well-versed in performing primary market analysis and refining strategies. Thomas's experience and expertise have helped him in successfully launching Beta Bugs and making it a leading company in its field.

Thomas Farrugia's educational career began with him obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with Honours in Chemistry with Materials from the University of Malta. Thomas then went on to obtain a Masters by Research in Nanomaterials from Imperial College London. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from the University of Bristol.
