Karen Dicamillo has over 15 years of work experience. Karen began their career in 2004 as a Psychiatric Social Worker at Psychiatric Institute. In 2007, they joined Foundation Schools as a Therapist where they created a central repository of resources for staff using MS Excel, developed a network of support systems for students, and trained other staff to use Microsoft Office. From 2010 to 2015, they worked at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as a Social Worker/Innovations Coordinator where they were chosen to lead the project of new innovative technology and methods for improving patient\u2019s outcome. Karen designed structure to implement new procedures, trained staff, and coordinated schedules. Karen also created training presentations using MS PowerPoint. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at Safe Routes to School National Partnership as a Mid Atlantic Field Outreach Specialist. In this role, they assisted in assessment and planning activities to achieve overall school engagement goals, identified potential registered schools to increase levels of participation, and conducted outreach and developed relationships with government, schools, partnering organizations, parents, and PTA. In 2018, they joined BETAH Associates, Inc. as a Project Coordinator.
Karen Dicamillo received their Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore in 2002, and their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from Whitman College in 1996.
