Eric Calhoun

Eric Calhoun has a strong background in research and development, working for various companies in the chemical industry. eric started their career as an Analytical Chemical Technician at Magni Industries, where they determined failure modes of 1K systems for the automotive industry. Moving on, Calhoun worked as a Polymer Applications Chemist at BASF, before joining Valspar as a Senior Chemist. At Valspar, they focused on new polymer development and applications testing for coil coatings in the packaging industry. Calhoun then transitioned to Axalta Coating Systems, where they held multiple roles, including Senior Product Development Chemist, Laboratory Leader for Industrial Coil Coatings, and Senior Scientist for Product Development Industrial Coatings. In these roles, they led teams, managed projects, and developed and improved coatings formulations to meet specific customer demands. Currently, Calhoun is working at Betco Corporation as a Research Director, overseeing the Research and Development team and ensuring strict compliance with FDA regulations.

Eric Calhoun obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from the University of Detroit Mercy, where they studied from 2003 to 2005. eric subsequently pursued a Masters of Polymers and Coatings Technology at Eastern Michigan University from 2009 to 2011, specializing in Coatings Technology. In August 2019, Eric earned a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Purdue University Northwest.
