Stuart Tonner

Stuart Tonner is the CTO and Co-Founder at BetDEX. Stuart was previously the Chief Technology Officer at LeaseLoco from November 2018 to September 2021. Prior to that, they were the Head of Engineering (Glasgow) at FanDuel from August 2010 to November 2018.

Stuart has a wealth of experience in technology, having worked on wide and varied areas such as: core product development, user profile management, payment gateway integration, marketing bonuses, transactional emails, an internal financial service, referral system, A/B test management, a CMS and an internal administration area to manage the site, games, promotions and users (including fraud and refund / payments). Several of these projects they have solely built and then led projects to scale them due to and in line with the site’s growth.

FanDuel has seen phenomenal growth and so Stuart has had a lot of experience building services in order to serve the increased user demand (upwards of 10x each year in some areas). Balancing moving quickly and being able to scale is something Stuart has a great deal of experience at and is something they feel is both critical and (sometimes) underrated in any business.

Stuart Tonner completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Strathclyde.

Ewan Meldrum - Software Engineer, Peter McArthur - Principal Software Engineer, and Drew Spencer - QA Engineer report to Stuart Tonner. They work with Frank Locascio - VP, Marketing, Liam Meldrum - Community Manager, and Daniel Bathurst - Principal Product Manager. Their manager is Varun Sudhakar, CEO & Co-Founder.
