Kathryn Vear

Kathryn Vear is a highly experienced nursing professional specializing in critical care and emergency management. Currently serving as the Critical Care Transport Nurse Team Lead at Baystate Health since November 2020, Vear also holds the position of NDMS DMAT MA-2 Nurse Specialist with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services since May 2020. Additionally, Vear has been the Director of Hospital Emergency Management Education for the Disaster Medicine Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center since July 2018, while simultaneously working as a Registered Nurse at UMass Memorial Medical Center since June 2013. Prior experience includes the role of Safety and Emergency Preparedness Manager at MetroWest Medical Center from September 2018 to November 2020 and Emergency Medical Technician for the Town of Dudley Fire Department from August 2006 to September 2014. Vear's educational background includes a Master of Public Administration in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from Anna Maria College, a Disaster Nursing Fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
