Lea Luana Scheffer is a dedicated educator currently serving as a High School Science Teacher at BETH TFILOH Congregation & Schools since August 2015. With extensive research experience, Scheffer worked as a Research Associate at Childrens National Medical Center and held postdoctoral fellow positions at NIH/NCI Frederick and Mayo Clinic, focusing on genetic models and lipid transfer proteins, as well as coordinating multidisciplinary research efforts. Scheffer's academic background includes dual Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry-Structural Biology from Weizmann Institute of Science and Physics from Tel Aviv University, where notable achievements include the development of custom-built atomic force microscopy for advanced studies in cell biomechanics and molecular structures.
