Mary Hengen

Mary Hengen, MBA has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Mary is currently serving as the VP CIBMTR and Clinical Services at NMDP since November 2023. Prior to this, Mary worked as the VP Patient Outcomes and Experience at Be The Match since January 2019. From September 2017 to July 2018, they served as the Vice President Clinical Strategic Initiatives at Optum, where they re-engineered the business for growth. Mary also held the position of Senior Vice President Human Resources, CHRO, CAO at Optum in 2018. Before that, Mary was the Vice President Human Capital for OptumCare from February 2015 to March 2017, where they led a team of 30 professionals and managed the Human Capital interventions. Mary has also worked at UnitedHealth Group as VP Human Resources and held various leadership positions over a ten-year period. Mary started their career at Allianz Life, where they held the position of Director Human Resources and Manager Human Resources, Benefits, Recruitment from 2005 to 2007 and 1991 to 2004, respectively.

Mary Hengen holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Mary also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in International Business from the same university.
