Jim Sterling

Jim Sterling has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Jim began their career in 2000 as a Radio Chief for the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalian, where they maintained communications systems for over 40 vehicles and trained other Marines in radio operations. From 2004 to 2007, Jim worked as a Small Command and Control Internet Protocol Technician for the Joint Communications Support Element, maintaining and configuring command nodes and providing various communication services. Jim then transitioned to a Site Manager role at Picasso Pavers, overseeing teams of bricklayers and ensuring customer satisfaction.

In 2009, Jim took on the role of Restaurant Manager at Beef O'Brady's Family Restaurant, where they managed employees and implemented strategies to increase revenue. Jim also had a simultaneous role as Communications Chief for 4th ANGLICO, leading a team and providing communications training during combat deployments.

From 2014 to 2016, Jim held the position of Systems Administrator at ARMA Global Corporation, handling server management across USSOCOM Networks. Jim then joined Leonardo DRS as a Satellite Operations Systems Engineer II, where they managed and maintained deployable nodes and assisted in troubleshooting ship-borne satellite systems.

Most recently, Jim worked as a Project Manager at BCP starting in 2021. In this role, they oversee projects and ensures their successful completion. Overall, Jim's experience showcases their expertise in communication, management, and technical roles across various industries.

Jim Sterling began their education in 2009 at Edison Community College, where they studied Criminology and General Education. In 2010, they transferred to Ave Maria University and pursued Political Science and Government. In 2013, they enrolled in the Center for Technology Training and obtained a degree in Information Technology, focusing on Network and System Administration/Administration.

Jim Sterling also acquired several certifications throughout their career. In 2013, they obtained the ITIL v3 Foundations certification. In 2018, they earned the CompTIA Security+ ce certification. In 2021, they obtained the CompTIA CySA+ ce Certification and the CompTIA Security Analytics Professional – CSAP Stackable Certification. Additionally, in 2023, they acquired the edX Verified Certificate for AI for Everyone: Master the Basics.

While pursuing their bachelor's degree, Jim Sterling attended American Military University from 2018 to 2021, attaining a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies. Jim also underwent various military education courses, including the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Advanced Course at Marine Corps University in 2020, the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education I/II at Joint Knowledge Online from 2019 to 2020, and the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Career Course at Marine Corps University in 2015.
