Casey Toner

Casey Toner is an experienced investigative reporter currently working at the Better Government Association since February 2016, focusing on critical issues such as police shootings and political corruption while utilizing programming languages like R and PostgreSQL for data analysis. Previously, from March 2014 to February 2016, Toner served as a statewide investigative reporter at AL.com, contributing to significant stories related to Alabama’s prison system and public health crises. Before this role, Toner worked at the Daily Southtown from August 2006 to March 2014, uncovering governmental waste and documenting legal cases in Chicago. Earlier experience includes a position as a staff writer at the Morris Daily Herald. Toner holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Northern Illinois University, earned in 2005.
