Liam Thornton

Liam Thornton is an experienced investment professional currently serving as an Investment Associate at Better Society Capital since September 2023. Previously, Liam held positions at Social Finance from June 2021 to September 2023, progressing from Analyst to Senior Analyst while focusing on investments in supported employment programs for individuals with mental health challenges and in palliative care services through the MacMillan Development Fund. Earlier experience includes working as a Portfolio & Funding Analyst and Enterprise Risk Analyst at Oodle Car Finance from March 2020 to May 2021, where responsibilities included monitoring credit performance across a £750 million portfolio and producing risk-related metrics for the Executive Committee. Liam also completed a Vacation Scheme Placement at Bates Wells in June 2020 and worked as a Tour Operator & Senior Crew Member at Magdalen Bridge Boathouse from April 2014 to December 2019. Liam holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Durham University (2016-2019) and A-levels from The Cherwell School in History, Further Maths, Maths, and Physics.
