Dr. Karen Newton Vertti

Dr. Karen Newton Vertti, DSW, LCSW, currently serves as a Licensed Telehealth Therapist at BetterHelp since July 2024, specializing in trauma-informed therapy. Prior to this role, Dr. Vertti worked at Happier Living providing various online therapy modalities and was self-employed as a Doctor of Social Work. Dr. Vertti’s extensive experience includes serving as an Administrator at the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, where oversight of Family Services Coordinators and implementation of trauma-informed services were key responsibilities. Dr. Vertti also has a history as a Clinical Therapist with Riverside County Department of Mental Health, and held roles at the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice and Kent Client Services. Dr. Vertti earned a Doctorate in Social Work with a Criminal Justice specialization from Walden University and holds a Master's in Social Work from Grand Valley State University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Philander Smith University.
