Paul Thibodeau

Paul Thibodeau, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Data Scientist at BetterHelp since September 2023, following a similar role at eSpark Learning where substantial contributions included developing a freemium subscription model that significantly increased sales and creating data pipelines for tracking student learning. From July 2013 to June 2023, Paul held the position of Professor & Director of Cognitive Sciences at Oberlin College, publishing over 50 research articles with more than 3,000 citations, delivering numerous talks, and co-authoring with 200 collaborators while mentoring over 100 students. Additional academic experience includes a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology role at Trinity University and a Scientific Researcher position at Stanford University, where Paul received a Centennial Teaching Award and was noted for leading impactful research projects. Academic qualifications include a PhD and MS from Stanford University in Cognitive Science and Statistics, respectively, along with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Chinese from Swarthmore College.
