Dr. Jessica A. has a diverse work experience. Dr. Jessica began their career as a Science Teacher at Powell County High School in 2008. In 2013, they became the Lead Teacher Online Oceanography at Montana Digital Academy at The University of Montana. In 2014, they began their involvement with the Montana Science Teachers Association, serving as President, President Elect, and Past President. In 2016, they became a MSP-LEAD Mentor and a Senior Director of Services at BetterLesson. Dr. Jessica then held a variety of roles at BetterLesson, including Senior Manager, Learning and Development - 1:1 Services, Manager, Learning and Development - 1:1 Services, Manager, Services Operations & Contract Coaching, Virtual Professional Development Lead, and Instructional Coach. In 2017, they became a Communications Officer for the NNSTOY-Montana State Teachers of the Year chapter and a Voya STEM Fellow for NNSTOY and Voya. In 2019, they became a Core Education Faculty and Faculty Lead for MSSE at Montana State University-Bozeman, an edTPA Scorer, Secondary Science at Pearson, and an Adjunct Education Faculty at Grand Canyon University.

Dr. Jessica A. began their educational journey at Anaconda High School, graduating in 2003. Dr. Jessica then attended Pacific Lutheran University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Elementary Education and Teaching in 2007. In 2009, they completed their Masters of Science in Science Education at Montana State University-Bozeman. Dr. Jessica A. continued their studies at Walden University, earning a Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) in Learning, Instruction, and Innovation in 2020 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Learning, Instruction, and Innovation in 2020.
