Karen Hockins

Karen Hockins, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has over 20 years of experience in human resources and management roles. Karen has worked as a Director of Human Resources, Human Resources Manager, and Office Manager at various companies. Karen has been responsible for developing and implementing policies, programs, and procedures, as well as recruitment, training, and benefits administration. Karen has also built HR departments from scratch and provided strategic advice to leadership. Throughout their career, Karen has demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to drive change and manage culture.

Karen Hockins, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix in 2015. Prior to that, they completed an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Foundations of Business with a Concentration in Human Resource Management from the same institution in 2012. Karen also holds a Power Office Manager degree from MGE, Inc., which they completed from 1998 to 2001. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate in Dental Radiology from Radiology Training in 2000 and a Bachelor of Hamburgerology degree in Management from McDonald's Hamburger University from 1985 to 1990. Karen completed their high school education at Smoky Hill High School, where they earned a Diploma in General Studies from 1981 to 1985. Karen has also obtained several certifications, including the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from SHRM in 2015 and the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in 2011. Karen holds additional certifications in various fields, such as Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) Certification, Ariel Work Platform Operator, Standard First Aid, and a Qualified Manager - Texas Private Security License. Most recently, Karen obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from HRCI in 2020 and the ServiceTrade Office Certification from ServiceTrade in 2022.
