VP Clinical Affairs at Beyond Air

Mark Rimkus RRT, P.Eng has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mark currently holds the role of VP Clinical Affairs at Beyond Air and AIT Therapeutics Inc, which they started in 2018. Before that, from 2016 onwards, they were the Coordinator of Respiratory Equipment and Excellence in Practice at Stollery Children's Hospital. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as the Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy Support at University of Alberta Hospital, where they were responsible for maintenance, repairs, and evaluation of respiratory equipment. Prior to that, they held the position of Clinical Lead, Respiratory, OR and Special Procedures at Royal Alexandra Hospital from 2010 to 2012. Their experience also includes working as a Systems Engineer at CBF Systems from 2008 to 2010 and as an Operations Manager at PulmoNOx Medical from 2003 to 2006. Mark began their career as a Respiratory Therapist at University of Alberta Hospital in 1994, where they covered various areas and served on specialized teams.

Mark Rimkus RRT, P.Eng has a diverse education history. Mark began their studies in 1986 at the University of Alberta, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, specializing in General Microbiology. After completing their undergraduate studies in 1990, Mark took a different direction and enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). Mark successfully completed the Respiratory Therapy Diploma program in 1992.

However, Mark's thirst for knowledge did not stop there. In 1999, they returned to the University of Alberta to pursue another Bachelor's degree, this time in Electrical Engineering. Mark's focus within the field was Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Mark dedicated four years to their studies, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

Throughout their educational journey, Mark Rimkus RRT, P.Eng has demonstrated a strong commitment to expanding their knowledge and expertise in diverse areas, ranging from Microbiology to Respiratory Therapy and finally Electrical Engineering.
