James Slocum has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. James is currently working at Beyond Identity as a Staff Engineer and Architecture Lead for the AuthN team. Additionally, James has experience as an Adjunct Professor at Mercer County Community College, where they taught Computer Science and Programming courses. James taught various courses covering topics such as COS-101, COS-102, IST-137, IST-238, and IST-239.

Early in their career, James worked at Gaming Laboratories International as a Math Developer. Their main focus was writing statistical simulations to model casino game behavior and ensure the accuracy of the math employed by the games. James utilized Java and C for their programming projects, including a successful distributed cluster that linked 130 computers together to solve complex problems.

James Slocum completed their education in the field of Computer Engineering and Computer Science. James obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2008. Continuing their education, they later obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science from the same institute in 2011. In addition to their degrees, they also achieved certification as a Sun Certified Java Programmer for Java SE 6 in March 2009, from Sun Microsystems.
