Michael Drake

Michael Drake is an experienced attorney currently serving as Supervising Attorney at Beyond Legal Aid since November 2021 and previously held the position of Staff Attorney. Drake also contributes as Executive Editor for the National Lawyers Guild Review since December 2020. Prior roles include Associate at Lisa Kane & Associates and Attorney at WeissOrtiz, as well as a COVID-19 Fellow at Legal Aid of Western Michigan. Additional experience includes Contributing Editor for the National Lawyers Guild, Law Clerk at Hallock Law, and Staff Editor for the UIC John Marshall Law Review. Drake completed a Doctor of Law (JD) at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and English from Illinois State University.
