Jesenia Chavez

Jesenia Chavez is a first year college coach with Beyond 12. Prior to joining Beyond 12, Jesenia supported high school students as a college adviser fellow for UC Berkeley’s Destination College Advising Corps, where she strived to make college a viable option for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. In May 2019, she received her bachelor's degree in sociology from Cal State East Bay. Prior to that, she received an associate’s degree in sociology and liberal arts at Contra Costa Community College. While in college, she worked as an elementary school instructional assistant for the West Contra Costa Unified School District. As a first-generation college graduate, Jesenia knows how vital it is for students to have a strong support system while navigating their educational journey, so she hopes to continue to be a resource for her students.
