Ran Liu

Chief Scientist at Beyondsoft

Ran Liu has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. In 2005, they pursued a Master of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University Calumet. Following that, they worked as an Environmental Engineer Intern at Weil-McLain in 2007. From 2007 to 2012, they served as a Research Assistant at Drexel University, where they conducted tests and proposed solutions for VAV terminal units operation.

In 2008, Ran worked as a Researcher at the Iowa Energy Center Energy Resource Station for a few months. Ran then joined the Iowa Energy Center in 2012 as a Postdoc Research Associate, responsible for conducting research on building energy efficiency and HVAC systems. During this time, they also gained expertise in building automation control systems design and DDC programming.

In 2016, Ran joined China Building Design Consultants as a Senior R&D Engineer, where they worked until 2018. Ran then moved to Shuimu Technology as a Chief Scientist, serving until 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Scientist at Boke Science and Technology, starting in 2019.

Ran Liu holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Drexel University, which they received between the years 2007 and 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University Northwest, where they studied from 2005 to 2007. In 2000, Ran Liu earned their Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from Beijing University of Technology.

In addition to their academic achievements, Ran Liu has attained the Distech Controls Applications & Controllers Factory Certification from Distech Controls in March 2015, and the Niagara AX Framework Certification from Tridium in the same month and year.
