Francisca Concha-Ramírez has a diverse work experience starting from 2013 to 2023. Francisca worked as a Trainee Student at NIC Chile Research Labs in 2013. From 2010 to 2014, they worked at Universidad de Chile, Facultad de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas, where they held positions as a Teaching Assistant in the Physics Department and also worked on Astronomical Software Development.

In 2012, they joined Observatorio Astronómico Andino as an Outreach Astronomer and Tour Guide for four years. Francisca then worked at Astronomy on Tap as a Science Communicator from 2017 to 2020, and at Francisca Speaks Science as a Scientific Translator in 2020.

From 2015 to 2021, they had their own personal science communication project called Primer Fotón, where they wrote articles on astronomy and computer science and hosted a monthly podcast.

In 2016, they started their role as a Doctoral Researcher at Leiden University, where they developed Python scripts, analyzed and visualized astrophysical simulation results, and published their code on GitHub. Francisca was also awarded computing hours in the Dutch National Supercomputer.

Francisca continued their career as a Data Engineer at Lyst from 2021 to 2022, then at Schroders from 2022 to 2023. Currently, they are a Data Engineer at BeZero Carbon, starting in 2023.

Francisca Concha-Ramírez began their education in 2007 at Universidad de Chile, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Astronomy. Francisca completed this degree in 2013. Following this, from 2013 to 2016, they continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science. Subsequently, they enrolled at Leiden University in 2016 and embarked on a doctoral program in Astrophysics. Francisca recently completed their Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2021. In addition to their formal education, Francisca has also obtained several certifications. In February 2021, they completed the "Machine Learning with Python" course from Coursera. In December 2020, they earned a certification in "SQL for Data Science" from the same institution. Finally, in July 2022, they achieved a certification in "Analytics Engineering with dbt" from co:rise.
