Detlef Boehm

Software-Entwickler at BG-Phoenics

Detlef Boehm has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and bioinformatics. Detlef started their career as a Post-Doc at the Institute for Human Genetics at the University of Goettingen in 2001 and worked there until 2005. From 2006 to 2009, they held the position of Head of Laboratory at the Center for Human Genetics in Freiburg and at Internal Medicine IV at the University of Freiburg. In 2009, Detlef joined CeGaT GmbH as the Head of Laboratory, where they focused on genomics and transcriptomics projects using various sequencing platforms. In 2012, they worked as an Oracle Certified Java Professional at WBS GRUPPE. Detlef then moved on to diagenos in 2013 and held the position of Senior Scientist and Head of Laboratory, specializing in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Bioinformatics. In 2016, they joined DKMS gemeinnützige GmbH as a Software Developer Bioinformatician and worked there until 2019. In 2020, Detlef worked at both Christmann Informationstechnik + Medien GmbH & Co. KG and BG-Phoenics GmbH as a Software Developer and Software-Entwickler respectively.

Detlef Boehm obtained a PhD in Human Genetics from the Prof. Dr. med. W. Engel - Institut for Human Genetics - University of Goettingen, completing their studies from 1996 to 2001. Prior to that, they earned a Diploma in Developmental Biology, Zoology, and Botany from the University of Goettingen, which they completed from 1989 to 1996. In addition to their formal education, Boehm also holds additional certifications such as "Microservices als Architekturmuster" from LinkedIn, obtained in June 2019, and Oracle certifications including Oracle Certified Professional, JavaSE 7 Programmer (OCP), obtained in October 2012, and Oracle Certified Associate, JavaSE 7 Programmer (OCA), obtained in August 2012.
