Omar Alhattab

Manager, Outreach at BGC Ottawa

Omar Alhattab has over 20 years of experience in youth outreach and support, currently serving as the Manager of Outreach Programs at BGC Ottawa since September 2003, where oversight is provided for a team of 50 and annual government-funded programs. As a Senior Youth Counselor at The Roberts Smart Centre, Omar focuses on assisting youths with severe mental health and behavioral needs across Ontario. Teaching experience includes an instructor role at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology and previous board membership at Youth Ottawa, which aims to empower youth to drive positive change in the community. Additionally, Omar has worked with immigrant youth at the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization and contributed to youth camps as a Senior Counselor. Education includes a Social Service Worker diploma from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology.
